Mohamed Mahboub Therapeutic Solution Manager

What do you do at Voluntis?

I assist the commercial team by preparing demos of our products for clients. I also analyze what pharmaceutical companies have coming down their pipelines to find the best medical fit for our technology solutions.

To prepare our demos, I work with the Medical Affairs team to analyze pathologies and how we can meet patient needs. From there, either I improve our pre-existing demos, create new ones or add capabilities to really find tailor-made solutions.

When did you join Voluntis?

I joined Voluntis in 2008 as an R&D Engineer. There were less than 15 of us so we all did a little bit of everything. From the start, it was always understood that I would end up working in sales. At the time, when we sold solutions, we created live demos with patients, web servers and remote access so Voluntis really needed someone that understood the frameworks to create these solutions.

Less than a year later, I started going to client meetings and working with the sales team.

What previous experience do you bring to Voluntis?

Before joining Voluntis, I was a developer for a company that created a measurement app for architects.

What made you want to work at Voluntis?

When I had my first interviews with the three founders, they passionately described the medical aspect of their work which I found to be a really intriguing change coming from my architecture background. The team was also really young and fully embodied the start-up culture. No one was left to work alone, it was a big family. Eight years later that still holds true.

What is the most interesting part of working at Voluntis?

Every day I do something different, from medical to technical to commercial. And I do it with people I truly appreciate. Both on a personal and professional level, people here are smart and congenial so I feel like I’m always learning something new in a friendly environment.

Describe the Voluntis culture in 3 words.

Team, performance-oriented, patient-driven.

If you were on death row, what would your final meal be?

Fish tagine.

If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, which one would it be?

My favorite TV series, Breaking Bad. I love that you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?

I would want to be able to teleport myself anywhere I wanted in an instant so I could travel all over the world.
